2020 up to this point has both gone by in a blur and felt like Groundhog Day (especially the past 9 months). This year we’ve depended on family, friends, our wonderful granola team and the most loyal customers anyone could ask for. For all of these reasons, we are thankful. As we near Thanksgiving, we want to reflect on those making a difference in our community and our lives.
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.”
– John F. Kennedy
Essential Workers and Community Supporters
It’s important to us to support our community any way that we can, especially during this pandemic. We saw a chance to assist essential workers in hospitals by making sure they have nutrition to make it through their shift. A donation of Golden Girl Granola Snack Packs to the staff at Emerson Hospital and Lahey Hospital (with an assist from Arthur Murray Dance Studio delivering the snacks to Lahey) was welcomed. We are thankful for all of the essential workers and the work they do to help us every day.
Back in March the folks over at Dark Monk (performing arts shop in Charlestown) started the Charlestown Face Shield Project. They made and donated over 26,000 face shields to front line medical workers across the northeast. Volunteers received plenty of Snack Packs as a thank you for their dedication and time.
Our friends at the Power Health Tour hosted their “Community Wellness & Giveback Day” in early November. Due to the uptick in COVID-19 cases, they pivoted to delivering food and everyday essentials to families and organizations throughout the Boston area. Our Snack Packs were a welcome and healthy addition to their food supply. We thank them for their continuous support of the Boston community.
Our Fans Help Feed America
All of our community support would not be possible without our fans! This has been a challenging year for everyone, but it has also reaffirmed our commitment to making a product we are proud to share with our community. Thank you for supporting us!
Additionally, you can help us feed those in need this holiday season. Starting Thanksgiving through November 30th, we will donate 10% of the total online order proceeds to Feeding America on Giving Tuesday.
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!
